National Geographic Channel will Broadcast Documentary Series on Dubai International Airport in 2013
According to Dubai International Airport’s managing body, National Geographic channel will broadcast 10-episodes documentary series on Dubai International Airport with title “Dubai: Ultimate Airport” in September 2013. Dubai International Airport is named among most popular airports in world, Ranked 4th busiest airport in world (expected to take 3rd position from Heathrow Airport by 2020) and busiest airport in middle east.
National Geographic Channel will broadcast the documentary about day to day working of airport to 171 countries all over the world in collaboration with production company Arrow Media. 10-episodes documentary will follow the daily operation of Dubai Airport, staff activities of Dubai Aviation Community like Emirates Airline, dnata, Dubai Duty Free, Dubai Immigration, Dubai Police and Dubai Airports (Dubai International Airport Managing body) and Dubai Customs.
Hamish Mykura, Executive VP and Head of International Content for National Geographic Channel, confirm the news and said: “The series combines great stories of cutting-edge engineering, technology and architecture, with an international cast of characters who deal every day with the pressures of running a very large, dynamic airport.”
John Smithson, Creative Director Arrow Media, also said: “What makes Dubai International particularly intriguing is that it is at the crossroads linking east and west. That gives it a unique cultural diversity”.
Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President Dubai Civil Aviation Authority(DCAA) and Chief Executive Emirates Airline, praises the project and consider it as a great opportunity for Dubai Aviation Community to tell whole world about Dubai International Airport.
