America’s Fresh Food Movement
Regardless of which team won or lost yesterday’s big game, one standard product from the produce section was a clear winner: the avocado. Avocados are becoming an increasingly-popular snack for America’s biggest sporting event, and this year is no different from the others.
Today’s infographics come to us from Shape.com and give us an idea of just how much of the green fruit we eat on game day. We as a country ate 1.5 billion pounds of avocados during all of 2012, but during 2013′s Super Bowl alone we will have eaten 79 million pounds, or 5% of 2012′s grand total.
